The authors found that implementation of the Zero Suicide framework clinical suicide prevention pathway (SPP) reduced repeated suicide attempts after an initial attempt. This study took place in a large public mental health service in Australia. Individuals on the SPP after a suicide attempt were provided several evidence-based interventions including screening and assessment, safety planning, rapid referral, structured follow up, warm handover, support and transition services.
