National Guidelines for Child and Youth Behavioral Health Crisis Care
With the launch of 988, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration released
National Guidelines for Child and Youth Behavioral Health Crisis Care to outline a framework for states and communities to consider as they create or expand their safer suicide care services for youth and families. Best practice strategies included in this report align with a Zero Suicide approach, such as screening and assessment, safety planning, providing a least restrictive level of care, and supporting transitions between providers.
